The AIOU Merit List 2026 is the list of applicants chosen by Allama Iqbal Open University for programmes that admit students on merit. Thousands of applicants search for it after the admission and entry test stage. This guide explains what is officially confirmed, what is still pending, and how to check your status without confusion.
AIOU does not publish one single list for every programme. Merit depends on the programme and level you applied for. For more admission updates, you can also read our latest Punjab board news.
What Is Confirmed About AIOU Merit List 2026
AIOU’s official website has an Autumn 2026 section. It shows the Final Merit List of Selected Candidates for MBA, MS and MPhil, and a separate link for PhD programmes. So, selection for these postgraduate programmes is already listed on the official site.
Entry tests for PhD, MPhil and MS were scheduled between 21 and 28 August 2026. The Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies tested on 21 August, Education on 24 August, Social Sciences on 27 August and Sciences on 28 August.
Candidates who passed the test were called for an interview. The final merit was prepared by combining the test score and interview performance.
AIOU Merit List 2026 Date and 1st, 2nd, 3rd Lists
We could not find one official date for the AIOU Merit List 2026 that applies to every programme. AIOU’s academic calendar shows a pattern of three merit lists for some programmes, with a fee deposit window after each list.
However, that page does not clearly mark these dates for Autumn 2026. So, no 1st, 2nd or 3rd list date should be treated as confirmed. If AIOU announces another list for your programme, it will appear on the official website.
5 Key Things to Know About AIOU Merit List 2026
- Merit is programme-based. MS, MPhil and PhD admissions use merit. Some programmes, such as MLIS, say there is no merit. Always read your programme’s eligibility in the prospectus.
- Postgraduate merit includes an interview. For PhD, MPhil and MS, only candidates who qualify the entry test are called for an interview.
- Selection is not final admission. AIOU’s calendar shows a dues or fee step after each merit list. Selected candidates must complete it on time.
- You must search your name in the PDF. Merit lists are usually shared as PDF files. Use the search option on your phone or computer and try your name and form number.
- Only the official source is reliable. Unofficial lists can be wrong or outdated, so confirm everything on the AIOU official website.
